What reaches your Inbox, and what does not
Two channels reach the Inbox, each by exactly one route. Knowing which is which saves you looking for a message that was never going to be there.
Email, through a connected Gmail account
Connecting your Gmail is the only way a lead's email replies reach your Inbox. REHL reads new mail every minute or so, matches it to a lead where it can, and files it as a thread. Without a connected mailbox, none of a lead's email replies show up in your Inbox.
One separate feature writes into the Inbox without needing a connected mailbox: BCC add@rehl.us on an email you send to bring the lead into REHL. That creates or updates a thread with your own outgoing message, not anything the lead sent you.
Text messages, once your brokerage is set up for SMS
Inbound texts to your brokerage's REHL number arrive as their own threads. This needs a number provisioned for your brokerage. Full A2P campaign approval is not required for inbound texts to arrive, only for your brokerage to send outreach texts out. Until a number is provisioned, no texts come in, because there is no number for anyone to text.
What does not reach the Inbox
- Voice. You may see a voice tag in the interface, but nothing creates a voice thread, so the Inbox is email and text only. Calls are not missing from REHL, they just live somewhere else: you log a call on the lead and it lands on that lead's timeline, not here.
- Replies to Cultivate emails that come back through REHL's own mail system rather than your Gmail. Those land on the lead's timeline and adjust their score, but they do not create an Inbox thread. In practice replies go to your Gmail, because that is the reply address on your outreach, so this is rarely what you are hitting.
- Anything from before you connected the mailbox, apart from the first sync's catch-up.
The first time you connect a mailbox, REHL pulls in roughly the last week of mail so the Inbox is not empty. Older mail is not backfilled.
